Determination of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) Using Nanoparticle-Modified Voltammetric Sensors and Electronic Tongue Principles

This manuscript reports the use of nanoparticle-modified voltammetric sensors for rapid and green determination chemical oxygen demand in river waters from agricultural waste. Four different variants modified electrodes have been prepared: CuO nanoparticles electrogenerated over Cu covered with Nafion film (CuO/Cu-Nf), graphite–epoxy composites Cu, CuO, Cu–Ni alloy nanoparticles. The response features these were assessed by calibrating them vs. glucose, glycine, ethyleneglycol, hydrogenphtalate alkaline media, as samples providing difficulty their (bio)degradation characteristics. most sensitive electrode was demonstrated to be (CuO/Cu-Nf) electrode, an LOD 12.3 mg O2·L?1. joint information provided sensor array showed ability estimating both organic load type sample terms degradation, what can named intelligent assembly.
